Supported Charities

Some of the charities that are supported by the FDAA include:

National Breast Cancer Foundation

The FDAA has regular Exhibitions and Sales where our members demonstrate our art to the general public. These demonstrations give rise to hand-painted cards, bookmarks, ornaments, teddy bears which are sold. All proceeds are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Humour Foundation & the Clown Doctors - Major Charity 2009

Together with Expertise Events, we raised money in Sydney, Gold Coast & Melbourne at CraftExpo (formerly CraftFest) 2009. This was achieved through collection of donations by general public who painted on a huge canvas – 2.5 metres high by 9 metres long. Three separate Paint By Numbers canvases were completed making each city’s contribution unique. These canvases will also be donated to the Humour Foundation with the purpose of fund raising or decorating a children's rehabilitation or hospital unit in each of the states. Special thanks goes to the Decorative Folk Artists of Queensland Inc. and The Society of Folk & Decorative Artists Victoria Inc. who worked with FDAA members to ensure the events were successful.

Taldumande Youth Services

Taldumande is an aboriginal word meaning Place of Refuge. Originally intended as an organisation to care for indigenous Australians, over the past 36 years Taldumande Youth Services has expanded to provide accommodation options and support services for all homeless youth, together with facilities for enhancing family relationships and responding to the changing needs of families and young people in crisis or at risk. Countless hundreds of young people over the years have been looked after by Taldumande and many have returned years later to tell of how Taldumande quite literally saved their lives and set them on the path to a fulfilling and successful life. The FDAA provides practical support in the form of donations of essential items that are required to support homeless youth.
